Job summary

Sutter Health's ABSMC-Summit Campus in Oakland seeks a registered nurse to provide holistic care in an acute setting, including direct patient care and family education. You will develop and implement a plan of care that addresses medical, psychosocial, and cultural needs while communicating with the care team.

This role requires an accredited nursing program graduate with RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and at least one year of experience in the specialty.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; RN licensure required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred on hire or soon after start.

Responsibilities

• Assess, coordinate, deliver and evaluate nursing care in an acute setting.
• Provide direct patient care and educate patients and families.

Position Overview

Accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery and evaluation of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care in an acute patient setting. Delivers holistic and individualized care to all patients in an assigned area. Develops, implements, and coordinates a plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors. Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their family/support group, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications. Adheres to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws and regulations to promote an optimal patient experience.

EDUCATION

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing Required
• BSN Preferred

Experience

• Minimum one year of current experience in area of specialty Required

LICENSURES AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Registered Nurse - State Licensure - RN Required
• Basic Life Support Certification - BLS Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS Required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support – PALS Required
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification - NIHSS Preferred upon hire and/ or within 2 weeks of starting orientation.

Pay Range is $81.26 to $109.95 / hour

The posted pay range is based on the position's primary work location. Candidates who reside and work outside of that location may be subject to a different pay range based on their work location. Candidate starting salaries consider multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
