Sutter Health's ABSMC-Ashby Campus is seeking a Staff Nurse (RN) for night shift on a part‑time basis. You will serve as the patient’s primary nurse, directing nursing care from admission to discharge and ensuring safety, comfort and compassionate treatment in a fast-paced environment.

Required is RN licensure with BLS/ACLS/PALS; BSN preferred; minimum one year in the specialty. NIHSS preferred on hire or within two weeks of starting orientation.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum one year of current experience in area of specialty required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall nursing care from admission to discharge.
• Ensure safety, comfort, personal hygiene and protection of patients; perform preventive/restorative measures.

Position Overview:

Applying the principles of the nursing process and working within the policies/procedures of the Patient Care Services Department and the Medical Center, the staff nurse is a registered nurse (RN) who, as the patient’s primary nurse, is responsible and accountable for:

• The overall management of the nursing care provided, assuring competent, compassionate and cost-effective patient care from admission to discharge;
• Assuring the safety, comfort, personal hygiene and protection of patients and performing disease prevention and restorative measures;
• Responding to medical and environmental emergencies

EDUCATION

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing Required
• BSN Preferred

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum one year of current experience in area of specialty Required

LICENSURES AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Registered Nurse - State Licensure - RN Required
• Basic Life Support Certification - BLS Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS Required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support - PALS Required
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification - NIHSS Preferred upon hire and/ or within 2 weeks of starting orientation.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Demonstrates working knowledge of patient care techniques, medications, treatments and general health care procedures
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Ability to: provide basic patient care to a diverse patient population read/interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations write legibly and effectively present ideas, document activities demonstrate leadership abilities deal with problems involving several variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Pay Range is $81.26 to $109.95 / hour

The posted pay range is based on the position’s primary work location. Candidates who reside and work outside of that location may be subject to a different pay range based on their work location. Candidate starting salaries consider multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
