Job summary

Platform9 Systems is seeking a Software Engineer to join our cloud-native product team. The ideal candidate has a strong CS foundation, is proficient in Python or Go, and eager to learn new cloud technologies.

You will contribute to cloud-native product development, support deployments, troubleshoot issues, and help shape the product roadmap in a fast-paced, remote-first US environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Excellent programming skills in Python or Golang.
• 6–15 years of experience in a software development role.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes is a plus.
• OpenStack/DevStack experience is a plus.
• Strong CS fundamentals and willingness to learn cloud/virtualisation.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols is desirable.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, able to work in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our team working on our cloud‑native product suite. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science, be aware of cloud‑native technologies, and have have a willingness to learn new technologies.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Contribute to the development of cloud native products and services for our Kubernetes product ecosystem.
2. Support Cloud infrastructure deployments using Platform9 products, including troubleshooting and problem resolution.
3. Learn and collaborate with the team to design and implement the product roadmap.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
2. Excellent programming skills in a major programming language. Python or Golang is preferred.
3. 6-15 years of experience in a software development role.
4. Familiarity with containerization technologies like Kubernetes is a plus.
5. Prior experience with OpenStack/DevStack is also a plus.
6. Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals with willingness to learn and build products in the cloud computing and virtualisation space.
7. Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems.
8. Strong knowledge and exposure in networking protocols is desirable
9. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
11. Being a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work in a highly dynamic environment.
