Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Mobile QA to lead the App Infra team within the Consumer & Business group.

You will define the mobile QA strategy for the native rewrite in Swift and Kotlin and shape the release readiness gates for millions of users. This role centers on building automated regression systems, setting quality metrics, and mentoring engineers on test architecture and native debugging.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in mobile test infrastructure.
• Track record of defining and delivering test infrastructure strategy that other teams depend on.
• Strong proficiency in Swift and Kotlin with ability to architect test frameworks and debug native app behavior.
• Experience operating QA processes during large-scale migrations or platform transitions.
• Demonstrated ability to build alignment and secure commitment from cross-team partners on quality standards.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve efficiency, cost and quality.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy for mobile QA infrastructure across the rewrite and design practices that lower maintenance while raising release quality.
• Build and scale automated test systems for recurring regression testing and decide what to automate vs. manual.
• Lead the QA readiness workstream for the phased rollout, defining success metrics, resourcing, and operations.
• Guide when to invest more testing resources and when to pull back as quality gains diminish.
• Partner with engineering leadership, product, and design to define SLOs and quality dashboards for rollout speed decisions.
• Shape the QA onboarding playbook for teams transitioning to native and mentor engineers on test architecture and debugging.
