Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Mobile QA to join the App Infra team within the Consumer & Business group.

The team is leading the greenfield native rewrite of Coinbase's retail mobile app in Swift and Kotlin, replacing the existing React Native codebase to deliver a significantly faster experience for millions of customers. You will set Coinbase’s Frontend quality bar, translating org-level strategy into the test infrastructure and operating practices that ~30 product teams

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering with mobile test infrastructure expertise.
• Defining and delivering test infrastructure strategy used by multiple teams.
• Proficient in Swift and Kotlin; architect test frameworks and debug native apps.
• Experience governing QA during migrations or platform transitions; manage dual-codebase parity and release gates.

Responsibilities

• Own the mobile QA strategy across the native rewrite and design practices that reduce maintenance while raising release quality.
• Build and scale automated test systems for regression testing and release readiness gating.
• Lead the QA readiness workstream for phased rollout with clear success metrics and resources.
• Guide when to invest in testing resources and when to pull back as quality gains level off.
• Partner with engineering leadership, product, and design to define SLOs and quality dashboards.
• Shape the QA onboarding playbook for product teams transitioning to native and mentor engineers on test architecture and quality standards.
