Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Staff Software Engineer, Mobile QA to own the mobile QA infrastructure for the native rewrite of the Coinbase mobile app. You will define the test architecture, build scalable regression systems, and lead QA readiness for phased rollouts across multiple product teams.

You will collaborate with engineering, product, and design to set SLOs, dashboards, and quality standards, while mentoring engineers on test architecture and native debugging.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with mobile test infrastructure and automated regression systems.
• Proven track record defining and delivering test infrastructure strategy.
• Strong proficiency in Swift and Kotlin for test framework design and native debugging.
• Experience guiding QA processes during large migrations and platform transitions.
• Ability to align cross-team partners on testing standards, strategy, and release criteria.
• Responsible use of generative AI to improve workflow efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy for mobile QA infrastructure across the native rewrite and ensure low maintenance with high release quality.
• Build and scale automated test systems for regression, performance validation, and release readiness gating.
• Lead the QA readiness workstream for phased rollout with clear success metrics and resources.
• Guide investment in testing resources and balance with quality gains across the project.
• Partner with engineering, product, and design to define SLOs and quality dashboards for rollout speed decisions.
• Shape the onboarding playbook for teams transitioning to native QA and mentor engineers on test architecture.
