Job summary

Polar Semiconductor in Bloomington, MN is seeking a MEMS process engineer to contribute to development, transfer, optimization, and documentation of MEMS and optoelectronics fabrication processes. You will design experiments, analyze data, work with Process Engineering, support initial test chips, and help ensure first-pass success, while writing documentation for transfer to production.

The role requires a Masters in EE, Materials Science, or Physics, with 5–7 years (MS) or 3–4 years (PhD)

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Masters in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics.
  • MS with 5-7yrs or PhD with 3-4yrs experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and perform experiments and analyze results to determine process sequences and parameters.
  • Analyze data from fabrication of test lots to identify parameters needing optimization.
  • Work with Process Engineering to develop, characterize, and optimize process modules.
  • Support processing of initial test chip and transfer lots to identify/correct issues for first-pass success.
  • Write documentation to transfer new process to production.
  • Provide inputs to Device Engineers to develop layout rules based on equipment specs and data.
  • Recommend test structures and contribute to test chip mask layout for process-dependency evaluation.
  • Create and maintain project schedules with mitigation plans to ensure on-time completion.
  • Provide updates to external customers.
