Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for space antennas and related hardware. You will drive from concept to space flight, including architecture trades, analyses, and qualification testing.

The role requires strong CAD/FEA skills, EMI/EMC mitigation, and clear technical communication with customers and leadership. You will participate in design reviews, support manufacturing and testing, and contribute to proposal writing.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 8+ years of experience in space antenna and payload mechanical engineering.
• Experience with architectural trade studies and cost/physical analyses.
• Experience with EMI/EMC mitigation techniques and thermal architectures.
• Familiarity with satellite thermal control in a LEO environment.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical aspects of Cesium phased array antennas, subsystems, and interfaces through all development phases.
• Present engineering design reviews to customers and the executive team.
• Contribute to proposal-writing efforts and technical documentation.
• Support space flight hardware from concept through qualification and on-orbit phases.
