Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own mechanical design of phased array antennas, subsystems, and interfaces for space hardware. You will drive architecture trades, perform thermal and structural analyses, and guide manufacture and testing through all development phases.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years of space antenna and payload mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience with architectural trade studies and first-order cost/physical analysis.
• Proficiency with CAD/FEA tools (Ansys, SolidWorks) and thermal packaging.
• Experience with CNC manufacturing and GD&G&T; familiarity with EMI/EMC.
• Knowledge of spacecraft thermal architectures and launch/LEO environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of Cesium phased array antennas and subsystems from concept to space flight.
• Perform analyses (structural, thermal, packaging) and guide interfaces and testing.
• Develop and present design review materials to customers and leadership.
• Support proposals and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• Ensure manufacturability, reliability, and testability of space hardware.
