Job summary

Anduril Industries, Mountain View, CA, is hiring a Staff Mechanical Engineer for the Advanced Targeting & Sensing Systems. You will own mechanical design across rugged, production hardware, including integration of LiDAR, mounts, power, and electronics, driving DFMA and validating with benchtop tests.

You will lead a complete CAD-to-prototype pipeline, coordinate fabrication, perform root cause analysis, and engage with warfighters in the field to gather feedback for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience with design ownership.
• Hands-on prototyping experience; comfortable moving between CAD, machine shop, and test bench.
• Proficiency with CAD software and ability to produce engineering drawings and documentation.
• Experience with BOM and drawings in a PLM tool.
• Experience with RCA and PCA for quality improvement.
• Self-starter with minimal oversight.
• U.S. Person status for export-controlled data access.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full mechanical design lifecycle for rugged, mission-critical hardware.
• Drive design evolution and translate feedback into detailed mechanical designs.
• Own the CAD-to-prototype pipeline including fabrication coordination and benchtop validation.
• Ensure robust mechanical integration across subsystems (LiDAR, mounts, power, electronics).
• Serve as mechanical authority for product quality; drive DFM and DFA improvements.
• Manage engineering documentation including production drawings, specifications, and BOM.
• Support qualification campaigns and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet goals.
• Engage with warfighters in the field to collect feedback and provide critical support.
