Job summary

Anduril Industries in Irvine, CA, seeks a Senior Manager, Mechanical Engineer to own rapid prototyping and scale concepts to production-ready designs, leading a team of engineers to deliver robust mechanical systems. You will drive design, integration, testing, validation, and manufacturing handoffs, partnering with the Chief Engineer to push for speed without compromising engineering rigor.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of mechanical/electromechanical design with engineering management experience.
• Experience transitioning concepts to ruggedized fielded products; military hardware a plus.
• 3D CAD proficiency and GD&T applied to high-quality drawings.
• Experience with machining, sheet metal, injection molding, welding, wiring and 3D printing for DFM.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Eligible for U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead Family of Systems Development from concept through production, ensuring seamless integration, reliability, and performance across Anduril's internal stakeholders.
• Manage and mentor a team of ~5-6 Mechanical Engineers, driving technical execution and professional growth within the Mechanical Engineering team.
• Oversee full-cycle Subsystem and Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) development, guiding requirements derivation, mechanical design and system integration, validation and reliability testing, and transition to manufacturing.
• Ensure engineering excellence by overseeing design reviews, analysis, and hardware testing to ensure product reliability in harsh environments.
• Coordinate with internal and manufacturing, quality, and reliability partners to ensure high-quality documentation required for high-quality production and delivery.
• Support critical hardware demonstrations with internal and external customers as needed.
