Job summary

Boston Dynamics is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to join our Central Hardware team in the United States. You will research fundamental technology and deliver subsystem designs for multiple projects, collaborating with electrical, software, and production teams to implement robust mechanical solutions.

You will lead mechanical design from concept through production, balancing performance, manufacturability, and reliability using CAD (3DEXPERIENCE) and simulation tools to guide decisions.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4–6 years of related experience, or an advanced degree with 2+ years experience.
• Experience leading designs through full development cycle from concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Support rapid brainstorming and prototyping of new technology across disciplines.
• Partner with electrical and software engineers to solve system problems.
• Lead mechanical design for key subsystems from concept through production.
• Balance performance, manufacturability and reliability across mechanical specs.
• Use simulation and analysis tools to guide decisions and validate designs.
