Expand Power Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of its modular, DC‑DC power electronics modules. You will own enclosure architecture, thermal management, and packaging from concept through production, working closely with founders and early EE hires.

The role emphasizes ownership, hands‑on prototyping, and collaboration with power electronics engineers to meet certifications and real‑world deployments in a San Francisco Bay Area setting.

Qualifications

• Enclosure design, thermal management, and packaging for power electronics.
• Experience bringing hardware from concept to production and meeting certifications (UL, IEC).
• Hands‑on time in lab/shop prototyping and testing hardware.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development of power electronics products from cabinet to board level.
• Define thermal and structural models, CAD, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing readiness.
• Drive design for manufacturing and assembly with external vendors.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to IP generation.
