Job summary

Expand Power, based in the San Francisco Bay Area, seeks an experienced mechanical engineer to lead the mechanical design of its power electronics, from enclosure to PCBAs. You will own thermal management, packaging, and manufacturability, pushing the technology toward real customer deployments and certification.

You will collaborate with founders and early hires, shaping the core architecture, driving design-for-manufacturing, and mentoring junior engineers in a fast-paced startup.

Qualifications

• Extensive enclosure design, thermal management, and packaging for power electronics.
• Proven ability to take hardware from concept through production and certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and development of Expand's power electronics products from cabinet to board level.
• Define thermal and structural modeling, CAD design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing readiness.
