Job summary

Johnson & Johnson's MedTech Surgery team in San Jose is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer to provide hands-on mechanical engineering support for Monarch capital systems, encompassing sustaining design, global BOM management, manufacturing support, design transfer, product quality, obsolescence management, investigations, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in mechanical design, sustaining engineering, manufacturing engineering.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on development and sustaining mechanical engineering support for Monarch capital systems.
• Own and maintain global BOM structures across R&D, Manufacturing, Service, Operations, and external manufacturing partners.
• Lead mechanical root-cause investigations and CAPA activities.
• Develop root-cause assessments and corrective actions.
• Support design transfer and manufacturing-readiness activities.
