Job summary

Johnson & Johnson's MedTech surgery team in the RAD organization is seeking a Manager Product Sustaining Engineering to lead a skilled engineering team in San Jose, CA. The role emphasizes ownership of electronics, PCBA and electromechanical fixtures across NPI and sustaining programs, with emphasis on manufacturability and compliance.

You will mentor engineers, drive cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing and Service, and ensure robust documentation and risk management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Minimum 2+ years of people leadership.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, or related operations.
• Strong hands-on background in electronics, PCBA, electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, prioritization and team development.
• Drive accountability around ownership, communication, documentation quality, and execution.
• Balance workload and align resources to priorities.
• Promote teamwork, technical rigor and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical guidance during design, troubleshooting, validation and production.
