Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Mechanical Designer to contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects, focusing on drafting, design, and documentation.

In this role you will develop PFDs and P&IDs, perform 2D and 3D drafting with AutoCAD and MicroStation, and collaborate with project teams to meet codes, standards, and schedules.

Requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication to coordinate with engineers, designers, and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in drafting technology or related field with 7+ years of experience.
• Or an associate degree with 8+ years of related experience.
• Or 9 years progressive detailing and design experience.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel for deliverables.
• Ability to work in 2D and 3D applications.

Responsibilities

• Produce complete PFDs and P&IDs from the design engineer's input.
• Plan and develop drawings for production with layout and calculations.
• Execute changes to designs or sketches and redlines on projects.
• Analyze reports, drawings, and tests to plan and design.
• Review designs for quality, cost, and schedule constraints.
