Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Electrical Designer to support various phases of planning, site evaluations, and construction documentation. You will work on diverse projects, creating electrical schematics, grid layouts, lighting systems, and control schemes using CAD software.

The role requires a 2+ year related experience with a bachelor’s in drafting technology or an equivalent combination. Collaboration with project managers and engineers is essential to deliver quality drawings

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in drafting technology or related field with 2+ years of related experience; or Associate's degree with 3+ years related experience; or 4 years progressive detailing and design experience.
• Strong understanding of AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel to develop design deliverables.
• Ability to learn and use 2D and 3D design software and prepare engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing electrical projects including schematics, grid layouts, power and lighting systems.
• Prepare engineering drawings from rough sketches using CAD software.
• Organize and maintain revisions of project drawings and plot files.
• Ensure design work complies with codes, standards, and project criteria.
• Collaborate with project team to resolve drawing issues and meet deadlines.
