Shield AI is seeking a Staff Materials & Processes Engineer to support the development and production of our next-generation autonomous aircraft. You will lead material and manufacturing process qualification from concept through production, ensuring performance, manufacturability, and compliance across a cutting-edge platform.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of industry standards for material qualification and coupon/element testing.
• Experience with composite materials including prepregs and secondary bonding.
• Ability to design and derive material specifications from test results.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain material specification database.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing process specifications.
• Provide guidance for fatigue and corrosion prevention.
• Support environmental qualification testing.
• Design and implement test plans for material, component, and process qualification.
• Develop and maintain QA inspection process specifications.
• Work with suppliers to ensure proper implementation of process specifications.
• Assist with dispositioning of nonconformances.
• Collaborate with multifunctional teams on material and process selection.
