Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a highly experienced engineer to lead the design, development, integration and fielding of next-generation autonomous aircraft systems. You will own electro-mechanical avionics packaging, harness integration, thermal management and system layout from concept to validation.

You will perform structural and thermal analyses, ensure DO-160/DO-254/DO-178C and MIL-STD compliance, and collaborate with electrical engineers to deliver reliable, flight-ready hardware for fast-paced

Qualifications

BS/MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
10+ years of aerospace mechanical and electrical design experience, including harness integration and components.
Proficient in CAD tools: NX, SolidWorks, CATIA or similar.
Familiar with eCAD tools: Altium, Cadence, Allegro; harness design with Capital or Zuken.
Experience with PCB constraints, circuit cards, and interface design.
Familiarity with PCB layout and advanced manufacturing methods.
Experience with FEA, thermal analysis, and fatigue/lifecycle testing.
Able to work in a fast-paced, agile development environment.

Responsibilities

Design complex electro-mechanical solutions for avionics packaging and integration.
Perform structural and thermal analyses for avionics to ensure survivability.
Ensure compliance with DO-160, DO-254, DO-178C, MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461.
Own design work from concept through reviews, validation, and flight test readiness.
