Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting a Staff Manufacturing Engineer to be located in West Chester, PA; Raritan, NJ or Zuchwil, Switzerland. The role is part of the DePuy Synthes TechOps group, focusing on new product development and scalable manufacturing of soft tissue and shoulder reconstruction devices.

You will work within cross-functional teams across R&D, Quality, Marketing, Finance and Sourcing to design, test and validate manufacturing processes, ensuring quality, cost and performance targets

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related, required.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a maintenance manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience in Project Management is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Experience working at medical device industry or pharmaceutical preferred

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with R&D, Quality engineers and External Manufacturers to develop new product designs and manufacturing solutions.
• Establish relationships between product design features and manufacturing methods.
• Provide design for manufacturing reviews and assessments of components and assemblies.
• Manage manufacturing of prototypes for new product development.
• Provide cost estimates for components and assemblies (COGS).
• Offer analyses and recommendations for manufacturing cost tradeoffs during design phase.
• Provide technical support to external manufacturers in process development and validation.
• Support ERP and Quality System assessments and related deliverables.
• Mentor entry level engineers and oversee supplier optimization for manufacturability.
