Job summary

Relativity Space, Inc. in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Engineer for Primary Structures to bridge design and production on the Terran R program.

You will provide DFM feedback, lead shop-floor activities, and work with a diverse team to keep builds moving toward flight. The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, collaboration with design, manufacturing, and reliability teams, and implementing process improvements across multiple work centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, aeronautical, mechanical engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years progressive and related experience.
• Proven ability to support complex assembly builds and resolve build issues.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Strong fundamentals in statics, mechanics of materials, and process improvement.
• Expert GD&T knowledge and experience with drilling/trim ops.

Responsibilities

• Provide Design for Manufacturing feedback to structures teams during development and prototype builds.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, reliability, production teams, and vendors to drive progress.
• Cover the shop floor for primary structure work centers, clearing barriers and keeping production moving.
• Champion process improvements across multiple work centers to improve assembly operations.
• Create work instructions, specifications, and best practices across high‑fidelity processes.
