Form Energy, a US-based energy storage innovator, is hiring a Staff Manufacturing Engineer, Advanced Manufacturing to lead the design, development and commissioning of next‑generation automated lines for their breakthrough technology. This role collaborates with Process Engineering, Operations, and external vendors to ensure scalable, robust line designs.

Based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV, relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, or advanced manufacturing environments.
• Experience designing, building, or commissioning automated manufacturing lines (high-throughput, continuous, or semi-continuous).
• Strong mechanical aptitude with machine design and material handling systems.
• Proven ability to manage external equipment vendors and drive technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design engagement with equipment vendors for highly automated, high-volume lines.
• Provide design feedback on mechanical systems, handling, and automation strategies for manufacturability.
• Identify and mitigate risks through design reviews and PFMEA/DFMEA.
• Own vendor performance from specification through FAT, SAT, installation, and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot integration and startup issues with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with Process Engineering to meet throughput targets and quality standards.
• Develop line layouts, architectures, and equipment specs to scale from prototype to high-volume.
• Establish standards for equipment design, vendor management, and commissioning.
• Support ramp-up activities, line validation, and performance optimization.
