Job summary

Form Energy, based in Weirton, WV, is hiring a Staff Equipment Engineer to lead the automated equipment that ramps production for our iron-air battery technology. You will own complex robotic cells, improve equipment reliability, and drive manufacturing excellence, partnering with design and process teams to scale a high-volume production environment.

The role emphasizes cross-functional leadership, process optimization, and the delivery of safe, repeatable production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or higher.
• Experience with automated manufacturing environments.
• Experience with Fanuc Robotics or similar automation systems.
• Proven ability to lead equipment improvements and perform root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve semi-manual and automated manufacturing equipment for modular products.
• Define and implement OEE and equipment performance metrics to identify loss drivers and prioritize improvements.
• Collaborate with product design and process development to provide DFM/DFA feedback for fully automated, high-speed manufacturing.
• Drive cross-functional alignment with controls and process teams to improve tools and equipment such as torque tools, lift devices, vision checks, and interlocks.
• Lead root-cause analysis of assembly and quality issues and translate findings into durable equipment improvements.
• Support production ramp and sustaining operations, stabilizing builds and reducing variation across shifts.
• Mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams to foster technical excellence in equipment handling and problem-solving.
