Job summary

Anduril Industries in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Engineer focused on manufacturing automation to design, implement, and scale automated production systems across our facilities. You will collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to push DFMA, drive continuous improvement, mentor engineers, and lead end-to-end automation projects from concept through production.

The role requires a 12+ year track record in automation-heavy environments and U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years in manufacturing or process engineering, focused on automation.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software, preferably NX or similar.
• Strong DFM/DFA knowledge applied to automated production.
• Experience integrating automation, robotics, or metrology into workflows.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to export controlled access to information or facilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop automated solutions to production processes from concept through production.
• Drive DFM/DFA to enable high-rate production.
• Audit current production capabilities to identify improvements.
• Design, develop, and implement robust automated processes.
• Specify and validate tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
• Create manufacturing documentation such as work instructions and control plans.
• Conduct root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective actions.
• Evaluate new manufacturing technologies and automation methods.
• Manage automation and capacity expansion projects.
• Provide technical support and train production teams.
• Set automation standards and best practices across programs.
• Drive factory-wide continuous improvement and mentor engineers.
