Job summary

Bitdeer seeks a Staff Backend Engineer to take the MaaS system and re-architect it into a commercial, globally distributed, multi-tenant token service that sustains millions of monthly users, with high token throughput and robust billing, security, and observability baked in from the start.

You will co-own the MaaS design with the Principal Architect, own end-to-end implementation, migrations, and service reliability, and establish engineering standards for the team, including Kubernetes-based

Qualifications

• 8+ years backend engineering experience with multi-tenant API platforms
• Proven ability to scale distributed systems across regions
• Hands-on Go-based services experience in production environments
• Strong understanding of observability, tracing, and cost-aware design

Responsibilities

• Co-own MaaS system design with Principal Architect and defend trade-offs
• Own wire contracts for major formats and API surface with versioning and deprecation
• Optimize token throughput, caching, and TTFT with Kubernetes integration
• Build end-to-end metering and billing systems with strong data integrity
• Deliver zero-downtime migrations and robust on-call runbooks
