Carrier Global Corporation in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Staff Lab Technician to join the Mechanical Sub-Systems group. You will collaborate with engineering to modify and fabricate test units for Transport refrigeration, instrument them, and run tests across development stages.

Responsibilities include data acquisition, troubleshooting, and improving test methods. 6+ years in HVAC/R with a trade program or 3+ years with an associate degree are preferred; strong IT and communication skills are

Qualifications

• HVAC/R industry experience with formal training or apprenticeship.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and test instrumentation.
• Experience or familiarity with LabVIEW data acquisition is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate Test Unit by replacing components, brazing, charging and assembling.
• Instrument Test Unit per engineering specs using sensors and meters.
• Connect Test Unit to Data Acquisition system and verify wiring.
• Troubleshoot refrigeration loop and electrical components.
• Troubleshoot controls and test setup as per schedule.
• Execute the test plan provided by engineering and document results.
• Validate generated data and report findings to engineering.
• Maintain Test Stand and assist with equipment upkeep.
• Support broader testing infrastructure improvements.
