Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation is seeking a Staff Lab Technician in Syracuse, NY, to work with the Mechanical Sub-Systems group on Transport Refrigeration projects. You will modify and fabricate test units, instrument with sensors, and perform electrical work to support engineering testing.

Responsibilities include executing test schedules, troubleshooting systems, and contributing to test infrastructure improvements. Experience with LabVIEW, PLC automation, and diesel engines is advantageous.

Qualifications

6+ years’ experience in HVAC/R industry with HS diploma or GED plus trade school/apprenticeship/workforce training.
Or 3+ years’ experience in HVAC/R with an Associate degree in HVAC/R or related field.
Strong knowledge of commercial/industrial wiring, hydronic systems, motors and controls.

Responsibilities

Fabricate test units and replace components per engineering requirements.
Instrument test units with thermocouples, RTDs, pressure sensors, power meters, etc.
Establish connections with Data Acquisition systems and troubleshoot refrigeration loops.
Troubleshoot electrical components and controls on test stands.
Execute the test schedule provided by engineering and validate data.
Maintain test stands and support equipment maintenance.
