Job summary

Carrier is seeking an experienced Master Test Lab Technician to lead test planning and execution in its East Syracuse lab. The role focuses on setting up test environments, calibration and efficient testing operations for HVAC equipment.

The candidate should have extensive HVAC testing/troubleshooting experience,EPA certification, and the ability to maintain a safe lab environment. First shift: Mon–Fri, days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• EPA Certification, or the ability to obtain EPA Certification.
• 2+ years of brazing and soldering.
• 5+ years of Chiller/HVAC operations or 5 years in a laboratory environment for mechanical/electrical machinery.
• 5+ years of experience with hand/pneumatic tools and precision measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic to moderately complex technical tasks for planning and execution of engineering projects.
• Operates, inspects and maintains HVAC equipment and test setups.
• Work with electrical equipment, including 460-3-60 machinery, with HVAC operation and refrigerant handling / EPA certification.
• Calibrate laboratory equipment to measure pressure, temperature, flow and electrical measurements.
• Select, connect and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and refrigeration systems on manufactured equipment.
• Operate/troubleshoot/calibration, Power Management / VFDs, valves configuration.
• Coach team members, collaborate with cross functional team and report results to drive resolution.
