Job summary

Google is seeking an experienced Staff Interaction Designer for the Agentic Docs team. You will lead design for AI-assisted document experiences, collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Research to evolve Google Workspace experiences.

You will help define patterns for how AI agents research, orchestrate, and collaborate with humans, guiding end-to-end experiences from concept to execution with a strong emphasis on user-centered design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in product design or UX.
• Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).
• 5 years of experience in interaction design.
• Experience working with consumer facing products.
• Experience in changing environments.
• Experience integrating AI features into established products.
• Experience pitching new concepts and thinking outside of the box.
• Proficiency with vibe-coding tools.

Responsibilities

• Direct the UX goal for identifying areas of opportunity for agentic and autonomous document experiences, guiding a cross-functional, cross-product area team from early-stage research to global launch.
• Drive the development of user journeys, high-fidelity mocks, and interactive prototypes to effectively communicate complex agentic behaviors and clearly explain the rationale for design choices to leadership and cross-functional peers.
• Identify user needs and mental models for 'AI as a collaborator,' defining the end-to-end experience for Agentic Docs and ensuring these components integrate seamlessly into the broader Editors and Google Workspace ecosystem.
• Contribute to product strategy by staying ahead of market trends in LLMs and agentic workflows.
• Hold a high bar for design craft, ensuring that even the most complex AI-driven features feel intuitive and deliver outcomes for the product portfolio.
