Job summary

Google is hiring a Staff Interaction Designer for the Agentic Docs team to define patterns for AI-assisted document experiences and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Research to scale design across Google Workspace.

The role focuses on leading design from concept to execution, crafting intuitive agentic interactions, and aligning with the broader design language while driving innovation in AI-assisted workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in product design or UX.

Responsibilities

• Direct the UX goal for identifying areas of opportunity for agentic and autonomous document experiences, guiding a cross-functional, cross-product area team from early-stage research to global launch.
• Drive the development of user journeys, high-fidelity mocks, and interactive prototypes to effectively communicate complex agentic behaviors and clearly explain the rationale for design choices to leadership and cross-functional peers.
• Identify user needs and mental models for "AI as a collaborator," defining the end-to-end experience for Agentic Docs and ensuring these components integrate seamlessly into the broader Editors and Google Workspace ecosystem.
• Contribute to product strategy by staying ahead of market trends in LLMs and agentic workflows.
• Hold a high bar for design craft, ensuring that even the most complex AI-driven features feel intuitive and deliver outcomes for the product portfolio.
