Job summary

Genius AI is seeking a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to join its Infrastructure team in an in-person capacity in San Francisco. You will own and scale our software factory, building deploy tooling and guardrails for faster, safer product delivery.

You will mentor engineers, define platform direction, and work with AI tooling to improve development workflows, reporting to the VP of Engineering.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including infrastructure.
• Staff-level ownership with measurable velocity or reliability gains.
• Deep hands-on experience with a major public cloud (AWS preferred) and Kubernetes in production.
• Fluency with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and GitOps-style delivery (ArgoCD or similar).
• Real experience designing CI/CD at scale: pipeline standardization, self-hosted runners, build caching, progressive delivery and safe rollbacks.
• Strong observability and reliability instincts. Defined SLOs and cleaned up alerting.
• Product mindset toward internal tooling with adoption focus.
• AI tooling integrated into development workflow and its impact on work processes.

Responsibilities

• Scale our CI platform and orchestration layer for the software factory.
• Build systems that let engineers deploy with less worry about deploys.
• Design guardrails and auto-approval for safe infrastructure changes.
• Shape tools and access to investigate and resolve incidents across layers.
• Own SLOs, codify monitoring in Terraform, and reduce noisy monitors.
• Write designs, review changes, and mentor engineers to steer platform direction.
