Job summary

Dexterity, Inc. is seeking a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and automate our bare-metal and hybrid-cloud infrastructure powering robotic systems.

You will own provisioning, compute, networking, Kubernetes, observability, security, and lifecycle management for scalable systems. You will lead architecture, drive automation, and collaborate with Infrastructure, Software, and Robotics teams to reduce manual work and improve reliability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing, building, and operating production infrastructure at scale.
• Strong Linux/Ubuntu systems administration experience.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting.
• In-depth experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools.
• Bare-metal provisioning and lifecycle management experience.
• Experience with Kubernetes deployment/operations and cloud providers (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Strong networking fundamentals (VLANs, DHCP, DNS, routing).
• Experience with CI/CD and Git-driven infrastructure/configuration management.
• Experience with REST APIs and automation workflows.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end automation for provisioning and lifecycle management of bare-metal HPC infrastructure.
• Automate provisioning, OS install, reprovisioning, and decommissioning using bare-metal tooling.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Salt, Python, and Git workflows.
• Automate Linux compute nodes, Kubernetes clusters, networking, storage, and observability services.
• Develop APIs and automation to eliminate manual server provisioning steps.
• Integrate physical provisioning with fleet management and other services.
• Automate cloud provisioning for hybrid HPC and cloud-burst use cases.
• Implement GitOps and CI/CD for infrastructure changes, with testing and rollback.
