Job summary

VTG Defense in Manassas, VA is seeking a Staff II DevOps Engineer to support Navy tactical systems. The role will automate delivery, installation, integration and testing across legacy software to on-premise cloud, delivering secure solutions rapidly.

You will lead a small team, build CI/CD pipelines, evaluate products, and coordinate prototyping with government partners nationwide. US citizenship and SECRET clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of DevOps experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology.
• Extensive experience using Linux (RHEL/Centos 7, 8, 9).
• Experience with CI/CD tools and frameworks (GitLab, Runners, Python, Ansible, Rook/Ceph).
• Extensive experience with shell scripting languages (Bash).
• Experience with Kubernetes, Proxmox, and Helm.
• Experience developing containers and tooling such as Podman.
• US Citizenship with current SECRET Clearance or ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
• Successful completion of background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of junior DevOps engineers.
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, PaaS, PaaS Services, Automated Tests, Data Architecture solutions.
• Evaluate commercial and open-source products for use in CI/CD pipelines and in a PaaS.
• Integrate 3rd party applications.
• Conceive, develop, and evaluate novel engineering solutions for maritime environments.
• Participate in cross-domain working groups and brief results to senior engineers.
• Provide and update technical documentation for all work performed.
