Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer for High Voltage Battery Software to drive development of our Battery Management System (BMS) software. You will bridge early prototypes and production releases, ensuring energy storage and powertrain systems operate safely and efficiently.

You will work at the intersection of embedded software, power electronics hardware, and vehicle network architecture, collaborating with teams across systems engineering, hardware, controls, and verification to

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
7+ years experience in BMS development or Energy Storage Systems for embedded real-time systems.
Deep understanding of BMS including SoC/SoH/SOP, cell balancing, and fault diagnostics.
Experience translating high-level system requirements into low-level embedded hardware/software requirements.
Proficiency with requirement management tools such as JAMA, Polarion, or 3DX.
Experience with cross-functional software integration, configuration management, and HIL testing.
Proficiency in analyzing large-scale vehicle telemetry data (Python/SQL/MATLAB) for engineering decisions.

Responsibilities

Translate complex vehicle-level requirements into verifiable BMS/energy storage specs.
Perform system analysis and simulations to architect scalable BMS frameworks.
Collaborate with safety/reliability teams for FMEA/FTA and safety analyses.
Define verification procedures and PASS/FAIL criteria with V&V teams.
Leverage telemetry and fleet data to diagnose anomalies and triage field issues.
Develop and deploy OTA software mitigations for safety and longevity.
Own configuration management, versioning, and release processes.
