Job summary

SimpliSafe in Boston is seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager to lead hardware programs that pair connected security devices with our subscription services, partnering with APAC-based JDM/ODM and other development partners from concept through EVT, DVT, PVT and mass production.

You will drive end-to-end program planning, interface with supply chain and production teams, and translate technical trade-offs into clear leadership updates.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with engineering teams in technical program management, systems architecture, or software/hardware engineering.
• 5+ years managing the hardware NPI lifecycle with APAC-based JDM/ODM or contract manufacturers.
• Experience delivering connected hardware with a subscription or cloud service, coordinating releases across hardware, firmware, software, and cloud teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage waterfall, stage-gate hardware schedules while interfacing with software and cloud teams practicing Agile methodologies.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to APAC and join partner calls in the evening to accommodate time zone overlaps.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in CS/IS/Math/EE/ME or related field.

Responsibilities

• Run waterfall, stage-gate hardware development schedules and coordinate with software and cloud teams.
• Manage APAC-based JDM and other partners end to end through EVT, DVT, PVT and production ramp.
• Interface with supply chain, sourcing, planning, QA and regulatory teams to keep programs on track from sourcing to certification.
• Communicate progress, risks, and recommendations clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
• Define technical and product requirements; negotiate resources and priorities.
• Rally cross-functional teams to remove roadblocks and improve delivery metrics.
