Job summary

Alpaca is seeking a Staff Data Scientist, Growth to define and own how we measure and grow across the customer journey—from acquisition to monetization.

As the most senior individual contributor for growth data, you'll set the technical direction and the North Star for growth, stand up the experimentation and metrics platform the company builds on, and work through Product, Marketing, Sales, and Engineering to decide what moves the needle.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in growth and/or product analytics and data science, with a strong background in statistical analysis and experimentation.

Responsibilities

• Own the growth funnel end-to-end across acquisition, activation, retention, referral, and monetization.
• Run the growth experimentation engine with A/B tests and causal/incrementality studies.
• Model retention/cohort analyses, churn and LTV, CAC/payback, and growth forecasts.
• Measure marketing impact via attribution, incrementality, and marketing-mix analyses.
• Define and maintain activation, retention, engagement, and monetization metrics and dashboards.
• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, and Finance to shape strategy and roadmaps.
• Create visualizations and narratives to communicate growth insights to leadership.
• Enable self-serve analytics and contribute to semantic-layer text-to-analytics.
• Mentor data scientists and analysts to foster a data-informed growth culture.
