Job summary

GeoEngineers in Seattle, WA is seeking a Staff Geological Engineer or Engineering Geologist to support engineering geology projects, with emphasis on geological characterization, field mapping, subsurface exploration, and rock slope stability evaluations.

You can expect to spend a significant portion of your time in the field observing explorations, mapping geologic conditions, documenting earthwork and foundation construction, and collecting field data that informs engineering analyses and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering geology or related field; master’s degree preferred.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Geologist-In-Training (GIT) certification.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and some US driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Geotechnical engineering activities focusing on site characterization, field mapping, and rock slope stability analysis.
• Oversee field explorations, earthwork, foundations, and construction to meet plans and safety guidelines.
• Prepare detailed field reports and coordinate sampling for testing.
• Perform geotechnical analyses using MathCAD, GeoStudio, RocScience, PLAXIS, and FLAC.
• Develop conceptual models and conduct numerical modeling under supervision.
• Prepare deliverables and assist with QA/QC and project management tasks.
• Assist with permit applications and regulatory compliance.
