Job summary

Delve Underground is seeking a Staff Geotechnical Engineer to join our California team in Walnut Creek, San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Irvine, or San Diego. This role supports tunnels, underground facilities, and water infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Geotechnical/Civil or Geological Engineering (MS preferred) with experience in geotechnical analysis, field investigations, and strong communication skills. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Geotechnical/Civil or Geological Engineering; MS preferred.
• Microsoft Office and Bluebeam experience.
• Familiarity with geotechnical analysis software (Rocscience, Bentley).
• Knowledge of geotechnical engineering, soil/rock mechanics, tunneling or subsurface investigations.

Responsibilities

• Support geotechnical investigation programs including planning, permitting, field data collection and reporting.
• Perform geotechnical analyses and design calculations for tunnels, foundations, and excavation support systems.
• Write technical reports and construction drawings/ specifications for underground infrastructure.
• Work with senior engineers and client teams on multi-discipline projects.
• Demonstrate strong written and communication skills and travel for assignments.
