Job summary

Salesforce Slack Enterprise Trust team is seeking an experienced backend security engineer to design and implement scalable security and compliance features for large-scale enterprises. You will own core security systems, mentor peers, and collaborate with product, design, and ops teams to balance speed, cost, and reliability.

You will work with PHP/Hack, React, TypeScript, MySQL, and Linux, while familiarity with Python, Ruby, Go, or C is a plus. 7+ years of web app experience is expected.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience building web applications.
• Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and information retrieval.
• Strong ability to explain complex technical concepts to designers, support staff, and other engineers.
• Ability to drive architectural decisions, contribute to architecture discussions, and write maintainable code.
• Proficiency in PHP, Hack, Java, Python, Ruby, Go, or C.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, high-performance security and enterprise features for Slack's Enterprise Trust platform.
• Own core security systems (e.g., identity management, data governance) and improve related infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to conceptualize and build new enterprise security and compliance features.
• Deliver high-quality code that secures the Slack platform and enables enterprise adoption at scale.
• Mentor other engineers, perform deep code reviews, and elevate engineering standards and tooling.
