Job summary

Salesforce’s Slack Identity Security team seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate identity and access controls for Slack’s infrastructure and AI agents. You’ll work on cloud-native backend services on AWS and Kubernetes, focusing on secure, scalable authentication and access management.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship features, review code, and grow identity domain expertise while upholding Salesforce’s values and security standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python or Go.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, deploying and operating services.
• Knowledge of distributed systems concepts (APIs, service architecture, data stores).
• Strong security fundamentals and secure software development practices.
• Strong verbal communication skills to explain tradeoffs clearly.
• Strong written communication for clear documentation for engineers, reviewers, and users.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and build services: develop and maintain identity and access management services on AWS and Kubernetes.
• Extend agentic identity controls: build and improve controls for AI agents to authenticate and operate within Slack systems.
• Build automation: design and build systems and APIs to remove manual steps in access management and reduce risk.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Identity, Security, and Infrastructure teams for shared services and APIs.
• Participate in code and design reviews to ensure high-quality code and sound system design.
• Grow with the team: take on increasing ownership of projects and systems and build identity domain expertise.
