Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Fullstack (Account Management) for a remote US role. You will set the technical strategy for the team on a year-long horizon and align it with high-impact business initiatives across product management, design and analytics.

You will own on-call readiness, drive design standards, mentor engineers, and help scale secure account management features while maintaining strong collaboration with global teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Backend systems at scale using Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Web apps built with React or Vue.
• Deliver major features with a clear technical/execution plan.
• Strong written and verbal communication for cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long horizon.
• Collaborate with product, design and analytics to ensure sustainability and risk awareness.
• Act as a force-multiplier by defining solutions and operational processes.
• Own team operations, on-call readiness, and code/design standards.
