Job summary

LaunchDarkly is seeking a Staff Frontend Engineer to own the quality and consistency of our core flag surfaces across teams. You will standardize interactions, guide adoption of shared foundations, and ensure a coherent experience for diverse users.

You will lead design-system initiatives, translate platform capabilities into product improvements, and promote scalable patterns for complex enterprise UI while maintaining high performance at customer scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with deep frontend expertise across multiple teams.
• Strong with TypeScript and React; ability to work across API boundary.
• Experience owning a design system that was genuinely adopted.
• Product and UX judgment with end-to-end workflow understanding.
• Cross-team influence without formal authority; lead by example.
• Judgment on leverage; select high-impact work from a large backlog.
• Experience with data-dense enterprise UI: large collections, filtering, permissions, etc.
• Experience with agent tooling / LLm usage in production.
• Excellent written communication for documents, prototypes, and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Own the consistency and quality of core flag surfaces across teams and set direction for shared interactions.
• Prioritize work from customer evidence to align with personas and stakeholder needs.
• Own LaunchPad design system as a product lever, focusing on adoption and migration.
• Track upstream platform capabilities and translate into product improvements at scale.
• Build interaction primitives (tables, filtering, sorting, bulk changes) as shared foundations.
• Prototype and land patterns for hybrid human-agent workflows with clear explanations.
• Be the first line of defense on frontend performance for high-traffic surfaces.
