Job summary

LaunchDarkly in the United States is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Flag Delivery team to own critical-path systems that stream feature-flag configuration to SDKs globally, at near real time. You will work on the next generation of flag-delivery architecture, streaming rollouts, and reliability and scale hardening.

The stack includes Go, AWS, Terraform, and Datadog; deep backend expertise and production ownership are essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend engineering for distributed/high-throughput systems.
• Ownership of production systems with on-call experience and emphasis on reliability/observability.
• Proficiency in Go, Rust, or Python and cloud experience (AWS).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and observability tools (Datadog/Prometheus).
• Understanding of distributed-systems fundamentals: concurrency, retries, idempotency, backpressure.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate distributed systems delivering feature-flag configurations to LaunchDarkly SDKs.
• Improve reliability, latency, and scalability of streaming/polling infra.
• Debug and resolve production issues; participate in on-call rotation.
• Collaborate with SDK, Core Product, and Data Platform teams on flag delivery.
• Write maintainable, well-tested code; participate in reviews and production-readiness discussions.
• Drive architectural decisions balancing performance, cost, and operability.
