Job summary

LaunchDarkly is seeking a Staff Engineer to design and build the next generation of user experiences across the LaunchDarkly product suite. You will mentor engineers, define rigorous system design, and own the experience platform including monitoring and incident response.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building large-scale products with sophisticated audiences.
• Built interfaces and platforms for consumer-grade enterprise apps.
• Technical leadership: setting direction and influencing teams.
• BA/BS in mathematics, statistics, data science, or related field, or graduate degree.
• Plus: Go, Python, or similar (Go for services, Python for stats).
• Plus: Event-driven architectures and large-scale data processing for high-volume ingestion/analysis.
• Plus: Cloud environments (AWS, GCP) and data stores (ClickHouse, Redis, DynamoDB, Kafka).
• Plus: Experiment lifecycle tooling and metrics frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Build and design next generation user experiences across LaunchDarkly suite.
• Collaborate with product teams to provide tools and platform for teams.
• Mentor engineers and raise the team's bar for rigor and design.
• Own operational excellence for the experience platform—monitoring, observability, incident response, on-call. Telemetry and alerting.
