Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Finance Engineering Platform to own the frontend direction of systems transforming trading, payment, and transfer activity into accurate financial records. You will shape patterns enabling Finance to operate faster, more accurately, and with greater confidence.

You will lead frontend architecture, collaborate with backend/API teams, and ensure auditable workflows with strong data integrity and performance across high-volume fintech apps.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping production web applications
• Experience leading ambiguous, cross-functional projects from problem definition through design and rollout
• Deep frontend architecture expertise including state management, API integration, performance optimization, accessibility, testing, and observability

Responsibilities

• Own the frontend technical strategy and architecture for financial reconciliation and operations products, including React and TypeScript applications
• Lead the design of auditable human-in-the-loop workflows with validation, approvals, and history
• Define end-to-end contracts with backend and API teams for new data capabilities
• Establish frontend best practices for testing, accessibility, performance, observability, and safe rollout
• Drive high-impact initiatives and align engineering, product, design, and Finance stakeholders
• Partner with Finance and Accounting users to translate pain points into roadmap while mentoring engineers
