Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the frontend direction for the Finance Engineering Platform. You will own the frontend architecture for high-volume financial data, partnering with Finance and Accounting users to shape a scalable product roadmap.

The role emphasizes auditable workflows, cross-functional design, and a commitment to quality, performance, and human oversight of AI-enabled processes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with React and TypeScript.
• Led ambiguous cross-functional projects from problem definition to rollout.
• Deep frontend architecture expertise including state management, API integration, performance, accessibility, testing, and observability.
• Experience with data-rich operational products or financial systems.
• Ability to align stakeholders through written designs and product discussions.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own frontend strategy and architecture for financial reconciliation and operations products, including React and TypeScript UI for high-volume data and investigations.
• Lead auditable workflows covering validation, approvals, errors, permissions, and history.
• Define end-to-end contracts with backend/API teams to make new data capabilities reliable features.
• Establish frontend quality practices for testing, accessibility, performance, observability, and safe rollouts.
• Drive high-impact initiatives and create alignment across engineering, product, design, and Finance stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and translate pain points into a clear roadmap with Finance users.
