Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Frontend to join the Consumer Payments team. You will own frontend development for money movement experiences across web and mobile, ensuring fast, reliable payment flows at scale.

You will mentor junior engineers and help drive latency, availability, and user experience improvements, while partnering with product, design, and backend teams. This role supports remote-first work with quarterly in-person surges.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with React and React Native.
• Shipping consumer-facing products end-to-end in a high-scale environment with focus on performance, reliability and UX.
• Experience owning SLOs and driving latency and availability improvements for user-facing flows.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as a senior technical voice on the team.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end frontend development for core crypto money movement experiences on web and mobile.
• Drive improvements in CUJ latency, availability, and SLOs for payment flows.
• Build new user-facing features such as contact management systems and real-time status trackers.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend engineers to scope, prioritize, and ship projects.
• Identify and resolve frontend performance bottlenecks across payment flows.
