Job summary

Socket.dev seeks a Staff Application Engineer to lead frontend and application architecture for its decision-intelligence platform. You will bridge Application Engineering, Product, Design, Science, and Customer Success to translate sophisticated data science into intuitive enterprise software.

You will architect, build, and maintain production web applications with React and TypeScript, define API contracts, and establish reusable frontend frameworks for scalable capabilities across clients.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building production applications at a Staff level or equivalent depth.
• Deep expertise with modern web tech stacks: React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
• Strong fundamentals in APIs, testing, performance, observability, and production reliability.
• Experience building data-intensive, analytical, or enterprise applications handling large datasets.
• Strong product intuition and UX judgment; able to turn complex requirements into fluid workflows.
• Familiarity with enterprise concerns including auth, permissions, security, and multi-tenant isolation.
• Excellent technical communication, leadership, and mentorship in dynamic startup environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain production web applications using React and TypeScript; define API contracts and system interfaces.
• Transform statistical forecasts, optimization models, simulation outputs, and uncertainty modeling into intuitive product features.
• Establish modular frontend libraries and application frameworks to enable rapid, scalable capabilities.
• Uphold performance, accessibility, security, and data governance for large enterprise datasets.
• Partner with product, design, engineering, and clients; mentor engineers and set architectural best practices.
