Job summary

Life360 is hiring a Staff Firmware Engineer to own Life360's on-device ML platform, shipping end-to-end from sensor data to inference results. You will foreground firmware and RTOS excellence, while enabling AI-native workflows across hardware, app, and cloud teams.

You will design the runtime, optimize for power and memory, and drive multi-device deployment with rigorous debugging using real hardware. This is a senior, full-stack firmware role.

Qualifications

• Experience taking complex hardware from prototype to mass production.
• Proven ability to ship firmware with on-device ML integration.
• Strong debugging across firmware and hardware boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Design and build a reusable on-device inference framework for Life360 devices.
• Own the end-to-end firmware path, from sensor access to inference output.
• Integrate ML into resource-constrained RTOS firmware with power and memory discipline.
• Lead cross-functional alignment across firmware, app/cloud, and data science.
